Under the fan · fan outfit transition
AI Ceiling Fan Transition on Your Phone — No Fan, No Tripod
The AI ceiling fan transition is the TikTok outfit change shot from straight above: a ceiling fan spins just under the camera and every time a blade sweeps over the person lying on the floor, a new outfit appears. The filmed version needs a real fan, a phone mounted overhead and four outfit changes; the AI version, which spread in late September 2026, starts from one photo. Here you upload a selfie plus four outfit screenshots (or pick a theme pack) in your phone browser and get a 15-second 9:16 MP4 of a fixed overhead room with a three-blade fan and four looks.
- 1 selfie + 4 outfits or a theme
- 15 s · 9:16 · sound included
- Phone browser, no app
- From 13 credits
The default Wan 3.0 / 480p video costs 38 credits. Failed jobs are refunded.

What the AI ceiling fan transition is, and how to tell real from AI
People also call it the ceiling fan outfit change, fan outfit transition, fan blade outfit change or simply “under the fan”. The camera never moves; the blade does the editing. Each pass hides the cut, so the face, pose and room look continuous while the clothes jump to the next look.
| When | What happened |
|---|---|
| Early 2026 | A filmed trick: phone taped to the ceiling pointing down, one take per outfit, cuts placed where a blade covers the lens. Instagram tutorials from that time (for example @colinpomeroyyy, who credits @jeffmachad0) show the setup. |
| Late September 2026 | AI versions made from a single photo spread on TikTok; The Tab covered the trend on 28 September 2026. Most posts now are generated, not filmed. |
| Sound | There is no single official audio. Duran Duran’s “Girls on Film” shows up often, but creators use many tracks. |
Quick ways to spot the AI version
- The room is spotless and evenly lit, and the person lands in exactly the same spot after every pass.
- Small items change between looks: a ring vanishes, a phone on the rug moves, a pattern on a dress shifts.
- The fan blades look too clean or bend slightly at the edges; a real fan shows dust, wobble and its own shadow.
- Captions saying “haters will say it’s AI” usually mean it is. Ask the creator or look for TikTok’s AI-generated label.
What this template makes
Every video follows the same overhead shot: a roll off a white sofa onto a pale rug in afternoon light, a three-blade steel fan turning under the camera, and outfit changes at about 5.4, 9 and 12.9 seconds.

Film it, use a CapCut template, or generate it?
All three end with the same kind of clip. The difference is what you need at home and how much control you get over the looks.
| What you need | Film it yourself | CapCut fan template | AI from one photo (this page) |
|---|---|---|---|
| A ceiling fan | Yes, and a room where the floor shot looks good | Usually yes; the template expects your own fan footage or clips | No. The fan and room come from the template |
| Overhead phone mount | Yes. Never fix the phone to the fan itself; mount it on the ceiling or a boom stand beside the fan | Yes, to film the clips it needs | No |
| Outfits | Four real outfits and a change between takes | Your own clips or photos in the slots | Four outfit photos or screenshots, or a theme pack |
| Time | An hour or more with editing | Shooting plus a few minutes in the app | A few minutes to set up, then the render |
| How it looks | Real fabric and your real room | Depends on how still you stayed between takes | One fixed room; faces and fabric details can drift |
Make it on your phone: iPhone and Android
Everything below runs in Safari or Chrome. You only need the photos and an account with credits.
1. Pick a clear selfie
Use a well-lit photo where your face is sharp and not covered. Head and shoulders is enough; the body and pose come from the template.
2. Add four outfits or a theme
Screenshots from a shop page work. Put them in the order you want them to appear: look 1 opens the video, looks 2–4 arrive with the blade passes. No outfit photos? Choose Everyday, Autumn, Night out, Halloween or Formal.
3. Choose model, resolution and sound
Wan 3.0 at 480p is the default. 720p looks sharper on Reels. Keep the template sound on, or choose Silent to add a track in the app later.
4. Generate, download, post
Tick the photo-rights box, generate, then tap Download MP4. Save it to Photos or Gallery and upload it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts with the AI label switched on.
| Detail | iPhone | Android |
|---|---|---|
| Photo format | HEIC photos are not accepted. Set Settings › Camera › Formats to Most Compatible, or take a screenshot of the photo (screenshots are PNG). | Camera photos are JPG already. Screenshots are PNG; both work. |
| Outfit screenshots | Screenshot the product photo, then crop away the price bar in Photos so only the clothes show. | Power + volume down takes a screenshot; crop it in Gallery before uploading. |
| Where the MP4 lands | Safari saves to Files › Downloads. Open it and use Share › Save Video to put it in Photos. | Chrome saves to Downloads; Gallery and the TikTok picker show it right away. |
What stays the same and what can drift
The tool sends the model your photos and a fixed 15-second reference shot. Knowing which part comes from where tells you what you can change and what you cannot.
| Part of the video | Where it comes from | What can go wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Your face and hair | Your selfie, used as the identity in every frame | Faces can soften or shift slightly after a blade pass, more often at 480p and with small, dark or side-on selfies |
| The four looks | Your outfit photos in slot order, or the written looks of a theme pack | Prints, logos and small details can be simplified; an outfit can start changing a moment early |
| Room, sofa, rug and fan | The reference shot. You cannot pick another room | Blade shape or count can glitch for a frame |
| Change timing and pose | The reference: a roll onto the rug, then changes at about 5.4, 9 and 12.9 s | Poses differ a little from the reference; you cannot set your own timing |
| Sound | The reference clip’s own track, laid under the finished video (or none if you choose Silent) | It is not a trending TikTok sound; swap it in the app if you want one |

Dollar values use the Studio pack: $79 for 1,200 credits (about $0.0658 per credit). They show the value of the credits used, not a separate per-video checkout. There is no subscription.
| Question | Current rule |
|---|---|
| Free allowance | New accounts receive 1 credits, valid for 3 days. A video starts at 13 credits. That alone does not cover a full video. |
| Smallest pack that covers a video | Popular: $12.99 for 150 credits, about 11 videos at the cheapest setting or 3 at the default. |
| Watermark | Accounts without a purchase get a moving watermark. Any credit-pack purchase unlocks the clean original of videos you already made, with no new generation. |
| Sound and download | The template’s sound is included unless you choose Silent. Downloading the MP4 again costs nothing. |
| Failed job | If a job fails, including a photo the Seedance 2.5 review refuses, the credits come back automatically. |
| Another try | A finished video you do not like is not refunded. Changing a photo, a theme or the model starts a new charged video. |
Posting from your phone: sound, AI label, loop and hashtags
The MP4 is already 9:16, so it fills the screen on TikTok, Reels and Shorts without cropping.
| Check | What to do |
|---|---|
| Trending sound | Generate with Silent, then pick the sound inside TikTok or Instagram so the app links it. Music licences differ by platform and account type; business accounts get a smaller library. |
| AI label | Switch on TikTok’s AI-generated content setting before posting. On Instagram, use the AI label in advanced settings. A realistic clip without a label can be labelled or limited by the platform. |
| Loop | The video ends on look 4 and does not return to look 1. For a loop, trim the last second in the app so it cuts on a blade pass. |
| Sharpness | Upload the downloaded file directly, not a copy sent through a messenger. If 480p looks soft after posting, try 720p. |
| Hashtags | #ceilingfantransition #fantransition #outfittransition #underthefan plus one of your own. Asking “which look is your favourite?” in the caption keeps people watching to the last pass. |
If the result looks off
Match what you see to the row below before paying for another try.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to change |
|---|---|---|
| It doesn’t look like me after a pass | Small, dark, filtered or side-on selfie; low resolution | Use a front-facing, evenly lit selfie without filters and try 720p or Seedance 2.5 |
| Clothes change before the blade covers me | The model blends looks that are very different in shape (dress to trousers) | Order looks so neighbouring outfits are similar in length, or try Seedance 2.0 Pro / 2.5 |
| A print, logo or colour changed | Busy screenshots with models, text or several items | Crop each screenshot to one outfit on a plain background |
| The looks came in the wrong order | Outfit slots filled in a different order | Slot 1 is the opening look; check slots 1–4 before you generate |
| Seedance 2.5 refused the photos | The provider’s review declined a photo or the reference | Your credits are returned. Pick another model or a clearer photo |
| Sharp in the download, blurry on Reels | Platform compression | Enable high-quality uploads in the app and post the original file |

AI ceiling fan transition questions
Was the ceiling fan transition a real filming trick before AI?
Yes. Before the AI wave in late September 2026, creators filmed it for real: the phone pointed down from the ceiling next to a running fan, they lay on the floor in one outfit, changed, lay back in the same spot and repeated, then cut each take where a blade covered the lens. Instagram tutorials from early 2026 show that setup. The AI version copies the look from a single photo.
Is the AI version the same as the CapCut fan transition template?
No. A CapCut template arranges footage or photos you already have and adds the blade wipe; you still need clips of yourself in each outfit, ideally filmed from above. The AI version generates the whole overhead scene, the fan and the outfit changes from one selfie, so nothing has to be filmed.
Can I make it in a browser without installing an app?
Yes. This page works in Safari or Chrome on a phone and on a laptop browser. Upload the photos, generate and download the MP4; nothing is installed. Some work networks block uploads, so try a personal connection if the upload stalls.
Can I make it completely free and without a watermark?
Not on this site. Signup credits, when offered, may cover one cheapest-setting video, and videos made without a purchase carry a moving watermark. Buying any credit pack removes the watermark from videos you already made. The routes that cost nothing are filming it yourself under a real fan or the CapCut slideshow version below.
Why does my face look different after an outfit change?
The model redraws the whole frame behind each blade, and your face is rebuilt from the selfie every time. Small or filtered selfies and low resolution make that rebuild less exact. A sharp, front-facing photo, 720p, or Seedance 2.5 usually keeps the face closer. No model guarantees an identical face in every frame.
What happens to my photos, and can I have them deleted?
Photos are stored privately under your account and sent only to the video provider that makes your clip; on Seedance 2.5 they are reviewed by the provider first. They are never used as examples on this page. To have photos or videos deleted, email support@bulinaivideo.org from your account address.
Can I do it in free CapCut with still photos instead?
Only roughly. You can place four outfit photos on a timeline and cover each cut with a fan-blade overlay or wipe, but nothing moves: no fan motion over you, no pose change, and the face changes with every photo. It works as a slideshow version of the trend, not the continuous overhead shot.
